(Town of Paris) The State Police in Waterville are investigating a two-car personal injury auto accident, with ejection, that occurred on State Route 8 in the Town of Paris.
On 11/20/09 at approximately 3:55 P.M., HEATHER M. GONYEA, age 28, of Clayville, NY, was operating a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero sedan northbound on ST RT 8 when she failed to observe in time a vehicle stopped ahead waiting to turn left onto Oneida Street. GONYEA swerved to the right and avoided the stopped vehicle. GONYEA then steered back to the left but over-corrected causing her vehicle to rotate and skid. GONYEA’s vehicle skid into the southbound lane and struck a southbound 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, operated by RICHARD H. FRALICK SR., age 40, of Cassville, NY.
GONYEA was not restrained by a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle and onto the roadway. GONYEA was transported by Edward’s Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in the City of Utica for treatment of minor injuries.
FRALICK’s vehicle overturned onto the passenger side. Both FRALICK and his passenger, RICHARD H. FRALICK JR., age 18, were wearing seat belts and neither was injured.
GONYEA was issued traffic tickets for Failure to Keep Right, Moved From Lane Unsafely and No Seat Belt.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Clayville Volunteer Fire Department and Sauquoit Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
