Fred “Fritz” Scherz, Jr. from Verona, NY, candidate for Councilman on the Verona Town Board, received a tour tonight (September 24th) of the Town of Verona Food Pantry at the Verona United Methodist Church in Verona, NY.

“I recently read a letter from Linda Finnerty that not only told about the good deeds the food pantry was doing, but she also invited candidates for local political offices to stop by,” said Scherz. “So, tonight I took the opportunity to go to the Town of Verona Food Pantry to meet with staff and find out first hand about how it operated as well as their needs. I was told that an average of 20 families utilize the food pantry each month, and that donations of food and clothing are really needed on a continuous basis. While I was there, a few people actually stopped in to pick up some food, and I’ve got to say how considerate and helpful the food pantry staff were. It’s comforting to know that the Town of Verona has a food pantry to help out those in need, and that it has such caring people running it.”
