Fritz’s Polka Band Completes TV Taping for Big Joe Polka Show

(Verona, NY) Jagermeister-sponsored, Fritz’s Polka Band (FPB) from Verona, NY, recently took part in the Big Joe Polka Show TV taping on October 1, 2009 in Buffalo, NY at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. The Big Joe Polka Show is broadcast on RFD-TV. The taping that FPB did should be aired around Christmas 2009.

“It sure was exciting to take part in the TV taping for the Big Joe Polka Show,” said Fritz Scherz, band leader of Fritz’s Polka Band. “The greatest part for me was having my Dad (founding FPB member, Fred Scherz, Sr.) play the entire taping, despite battling cancer. My Dad played his accordion on all 16 songs. Another thrill of the taping was having our great friend of many years (3-time Grammy winner), Walter Ostanek jam on three songs with us. I want to thank Big Joe for having my band be part of the taping, and also send special thanks to our friends that went along with us on our sold-out bus for the trip!”
