Aggravated DWI charged following traffic stop in Verona

(Verona, NY) – Joseph E. Bowman Jr., age 31, of Route 31, Canastota was charged with Driving while Intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 31 near Irish Ridge Road in Verona around 8:05 p.m. Oct. 7.

Bowman’s pickup truck was stopped by Oneida-based Trooper Scott F. Weber after it was spotted weaving across the center line of the roadway while travelling westbound.

Bowman was processed at the SP Oneida barracks, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .22 percent. Bowman was charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI for having a BAC over .18 percent and Driving Left of Pavement Markings.

He is to appear in the Town of Verona Court on October 20, 2009.
