(Vernon, NY) Assemblyman David Townsend (R,WF-Sylvan Beach) was recently welcomed to the Root Farm, the Vernon-based special needs and adult therapy center which assists participants through equine-related activities including hippotherapy, adaptive vaulting, adult day habilitation, and therapeutic driving. The staff thanked Townsend for his securing $10,000 in funds for Root Farm’s therapeutic programs for autistic individuals.
“The important work of the Root Farm and its staff must continue,” said Townsend. “I am proud to aid their mission of caring for special needs children and adults in any way I can. Animals can open up new possibilities for healing and therapy in all of us. The Root Farm has successfully applied this notion to its important, compassionate work.”
