(Marcy) At Approximately 4:30 AM State Police at Marcy were dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident on Paul Becker Road in the Town of Marcy. Investigation revealed that a 1998 Jeep driven by Kelvin Tennell, 49 of Utica was southbound on Paul Becker Road when he failed to stop for a stop sign and struck several trees and a metal fence along the walking trail adjacent to Paul Becker Road. Tennell was not injured in the crash. Investigation at the scene determined that Tennell had been drinking and was intoxicated. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to SP Marcy for processing.
Tennell was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Stop for a Stop Sign.
He is to reappear at the Town of Marcy Court on August 26 at 4:00 PM. The State Police were assisted at the scene by Maynard Fire Department.
