Mohawk Valley Chamber to Donate $5,000 to United Way

(Utica, NY) The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce will present a $5,000 check to the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area at the United Way’s 2009 Campaign Kickoff on Tuesday, September 15th at 5:00 pm at the Stanley Center for the Arts. The donation is a result of the successful 2009 Choo-Choo for Charity Golf Outing held on Friday, August 28th, 2009. The donation will go towards the Mohawk Valley Community Crisis Response Fund.

The Mohawk Valley Community Crisis Response Fund was founded in 2008 by the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area, and The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce; who was the founding sponsor. The fund is intended to be used for possible disaster relief here in the Mohawk Valley if in fact it were needed.

Managed by a local volunteer Oversight Committee, the Community Crisis Response Fund will provide eligible expenses through goods and services only and will be directed to the community through partner nonprofit organizations.
