(Utica, NY) The Computed Tomography (CT) department at Marian Medical Imaging has recently been granted accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for a period of three years.
The accreditation process was coordinated by the department chairman, Maurice Oehlsen, M.D., and Paul Appley, R.T.R., Senior CT Technologist at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The certification process consisted of a review of policies and procedures, equipment performance, quality control, clinical images and accuracy of reports by a panel of board-certified radiologists who have expertise in CT imaging.
“The recent accreditation of the Ultrasound and the CT Departments at Marian Medical Imaging demonstrates the Radiology Department’s commitment to quality,” said Dr. Oehlsen. The Department is in the process of submitting applications to the ACR for Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and CT at the Medical Center.
