Health care supporters and community members throughout the 24th Congressional District (represented by Michael Arcuri-D) led by faith leaders will be holding a caravan throughout the district (Binghamton, Cortland, Utica) today, Oct. 20 to remember victims of the lack of health coverage. They are asking Congressman Arcuri to work to deliver health care legislation by the end of the year with a strong public option and affordable coverage for all New Yorkers.
The local event is one of thousands held throughout the nation around of the theme of “time to deliver,” sponsored by Health Care for America Now (HCAN), the nation’s largest health care campaign.
WHO: Faith Leaders, Community Members, and Labor
WHAT: Caravan throughout 24th C.D. to remember victims of lack of access to health care. A vigil at each stop led by faith leaders to remember people who died due to lack of health coverage. People who have lost family members will tell their stories. Then people will March to Rep. Arcuri’s office to present him with 1500 petition signatures – supporting HR 3200.

Cortland: 12:30 PM – Unitarian Church, 3 Church Street, Cortland (corner of Elm)
Utica: 4:00 PM – Federal Building, 10 Broad Street, Utica

Caravan with signs, bells will toll every 12 minutes.
