(Rome, NY) A team of Junior ROTC students from Rome Free Academy has earned its way into the national finals of the U.S. Air Force’s Cyber Patriot II Competition.
An RFA team of six students entered the competition, a cyber security defense challenge in which students protect a computer network from hackers. More than 250 teams nationwide entered the competition.
On Nov. 21, the team earned it way into the final round of eight teams. They will head to Orlando, Fla., in February for the competition’s finals.
The participating students are: Rafhanah Pitkin, Sean Bird, Sean Stanford, Rafidah Pitkin, Lauren Bendall, and Josh Pilgreen.
