Area fire, police agencies invited to participate in Public Safety Basketball Challenge

Area fire, police agencies invited to participate in Public Safety Basketball Challenge thumbnail

(Oneida, NY) The Oneida Recreation Department is organizing a series of challenges this year and is asking local police and fire departments around this area to represent its station by participating in activities. Basketball will be the first challenge and will be played March 6 at the Recreation Center. The team entry fee is $50.

Police and Fire Departments from the same community are allowed to make one team if there is a lack of numbers to fill an individual department roster.

A mandatory captains meeting will be held on Feb. 24 at 7 pm. There must be minimum of eight teams to hold the basketball challenge.

Teams that have been invited include Bridgeport Fire Depart. Comp Inc., Madison County Sheriffs, Sherrill Police Department, Canastota Police Department, Munnsville Fire Department, Sylvan Beach Fire Department, Canastota Fire Department, New London Fire Hall, University Police-Cazenovia, Cazenovia Police Department, New York State Police-Oneida University Police- Colgate, Cazenovia Fire Department, New York State Police-Sylvan Beach,  University Police-Morrisville, Chittenango Police Department, Oneida Castle Fire Department, Vernon Police Department, Chittenango Fire Department, Oneida County Sheriffs, Vernon Center Fire Department, Durhamville Fire Department, Oneida Police Department, Vernon Engine House, Hamilton Fire Department, Oneida Fire Department, Verona Police Department, Knoxboro Fire Department, Rome Police Department, Verona Fire Hall, Lowell Fire Department, Rome Fire Department, Wampsville Fire Department and the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Department.
