New Hartford, N.Y. – Girl Scouts from across the state gathered this past weekend at the largest all-girl sleepover in the area, veni.vidi.vici. ~ the power of girls together.
The sixth annual event allowed girls to learn zumba, experience teambuilding during the Project Wild Games, conquer their fears on the 24-foot rock wall, make origami butterflies with help from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County, create outfits and accessories for the recycled runway fashion show, discover plants and animals from Rogers Environmental Education Center, and take a dip in the swimming pool. Girls started the event with a kick-off dance party where they were able to dance to all of their favorite songs. Older girls were able to relax with a luxurious spa night and the all-night movies.
veni.vidi.vici. is designed to expose Girl Scouts from ages 5-18 to a variety of activities that encourages them to test their skills, try new things, experience healthy lifestyles, make new friends, and much more.
The success of the event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, Wal-Mart, QSP Inc., Ashdon Farms, Jim Hill in memory of Ruth Hill, Byrne Dairy, Domino’s Pizza, Hannaford Supermarket, Price Chopper, and Roger’s Environmental Education Center.
The event would also not be possible without our supporters and all of our volunteers.
We look forward to another great event next year that allows all girls to experience the power of girls together!
