(North Bay, NY – September 16, 2009) – On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Members of the New York State Police were dispatched to a unknown body floating in the water near the Shore of Lake Shore Road in North Bay.
Upon arrival Troopers found a male floating in his fishing boat. The male’s upper body was submerged under the water, while his lower part was still in the boat. Members were able to pull the boat and male to shore where life-saving efforts were attempted by the North Bay Fire Department.
The male was transported to Oneida City Hospital and pronounced deceased upon arrival. The male has been identified as 64 year-old, Ronald R. Emerling of Hamburg, NY. No further details are available at this time. The investigation is continuing pending the autopsy results.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene with this investigation.
