On 05/01/10, Charles F. Davenport, 68, of Vernon Center was found deceased at the farm he was working at off of Stop Seven Road in the Town of Westmoreland.

Davenport was apparently riding a large tractor when something went wrong and caused him to leave the tractor. It appeared the tractor ran over Mr. Davenport; however the investigation is continuing to determine the cause of death. It is unclear at this time whether it was related to a medical condition he had.

The investigation is continuing.

Williamson was processed at Morrisville where a .17 percent BAC breath test was obtained. She was charged with DWI, Driving with a BAC greater than .08 percent and Speeding.

She was released on tickets to appear in the town of Madison Court on 04/05/10 at 7PM.

“We are thrilled to be a very small part of a very big movie,” said Mike Bova, publisher of M3P Media, LLC.

According to promoters, the film stars mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, a young, tough, beautiful freelance covert operative. She is hired out by her handler, Kenneth, to various global entities to perform jobs that governments can’t authorize and heads of state would rather not know about. For all her looks and youth, Mallory is still the best in her field, and her skills are in constant demand.

After a mission to rescue a hostage in Barcelona, Kenneth quickly dispatches Mallory on another mission to Dublin. There she partners with another operative, the suave and debonair Paul. When the operation goes awry and Mallory finds she has been double-crossed, she needs to use all of her skills, tricks and abilities to escape an international manhunt, make it back to the United States, protect her family and exact revenge on those that have betrayed her.

According to information on IMDb.com, producers have signed actors Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Ewen McGregor and Channing Tatum, to name a few.

Knockout, which is filming now, is being directed by Steven Soderbergh, who also directed “Erin Brockovich” and “Ocean’s Eleven.”

The movie is expected to be released sometime next year.

Prices are Adults, $8, Children 6-12 are $5, and children 5 and under free.

The church is handicapped accessible.

Take-outs will be available.

The menu consists of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, bread, and beverage hot or cold.

There also will be a dessert bake sale.

There are no reservations. Take-out orders can be picked up any time during the service.

Katie Lastowski was selected as the Outstanding 4-Her for 2009, she will attend the Capital Days trip to Albany in 2010.  Meghan Vaill received the Outstanding Animal Award and will be attending Cornell’s Career Exploration Day

Oneida County currently has over 300 youth enrolled within 4-H. (Vernon Center, NY) Our church is once again holding a Bake Sale, Homemade Soup Sale, Second Hand Treasures Sale AND Luncheon from 11am to 2pm at the Vernon Center Volunteer Fire Department.

This is all Happening on Election Day, November 3rd, 2009 (a voting station) from 9am to 6:30pm. All are Welcome to come and browse even if this is not your voting district.

The Vernon Center United Methodist Church is located at the corner of 5815 Youngs Road and State Route 26 on the Circle.

I have lived in Vernon Center all my life.  Upon graduation from VVS Schools, I entered the United States Navy and served for 6 years. I am employed by Rome Research Corporation now for 28 years.

For over 20 years I have been involved in the Vernon Rod & Gun Club, Federated Sportsmen Clubs of Oneida County, New York State Conservation Council and the New York State Outdoorsman’s Hall of Fame. . I have served as an officer or on the boards of each of these organizations.   I have worked to represent sportsmen’s and women on Conservation issues statewide. I have fought to keep hunting and fishing a viable commodity in this state.

When I served on committees and boards for the different Sportsmen and women organizations, the one thing I always did was try to represent them when I was asked to vote on something that was a concern for them. I sometimes voted against the majority because it was not going to benefit everyone but only a select few.

I enjoy living in this community and will try to serve the taxpayers in this township to the best of my abilities.
