(Utica, NY) The Oneida County Historical Society will unveil its new publication – “Utica Remember When” – at a reception in its gallery at 1608 Genesee St. on Saturday, Nov. 14 from noon to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The authors – Carl Saporito and Frank Tomaino – will be available to sign the book, which is a 32-page pictorial with 66 photographs of Utica in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
All proceeds go to the historical society to help with its operating expenses.
Some of the topics covered include: “Utica Goes to War” … “Uticans Go to the Movies” … “Woolworth’s and its Neighbors” … “A City Treasure Gone Forever (Utica’s old city hall) …and much more.
The book is the first in a series of pictorials that Saporito and Tomaino hope to put out to benefit the historical society.
