(Rome, NY) On July 29, at approximately 3:33 p.m., the State Police out of Sylvan Beach investigated a fatal accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Rome New London Road and Oswego Road in the outer district of the City of Rome. The operator of vehicle one, Hope M. Peck 34, of Rome failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn from Oswego Road onto Rome New London Road and struck vehicle two head on.
Vehicle two, a motorcycle being driven by David L. Page, 56, also of Rome was being driven southwest bound on Rome New London Road at the time of the collision.
Page was transported from the scene by Amcare to the Rome City Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Peck had no reported injuries at this time. Peck was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way. The investigation is continuing.
