Nichols Volunteer of Month

Red Cross, Dunkin Donuts honors volunteer for hard work

Dunkin Donuts and the Madison-Oneida Chapter of the American Red Cross honored Karen Nichols with the February Red Cross Volunteer of the Month Award.

Since Nichols walked in the door of the Madison-Oneida Chapter she has been a very enthusiastic volunteer.  Nicholas has stepped up to help the Chapter organize and file the Health and Safety Course records, which must be archived for several years.  If a student’s certification card is lost, thanks to Karen’s hard work, the information can be retrieved easily and a new certificate can be issued.

Besides being a volunteer in the office Karen volunteers for the Chapter at local bloodmobiles. She may be seen greeting people at the registration desk or handing out cookies and drinks to the donors after they have given the gift of life.

When Nichols walks into the office, her joy germs are contagious.  She is always wearing a smile.

Nicholas Karen resides in Durhamville with her husband Jim.
