(Utica, NY) The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Business Journal, honored twelve area companies and organizations at their annual Business of the Year awards ceremony on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Harts Hill Inn. The event also featured keynote speaker New York State Senator Joseph Griffo. Over 230 people attended the event.
Awards were presented to winners in four separate categories, which included Business with over 50 employees; Business with 50 employees or fewer; Not-for-profit with over 50 employees; and Not-for-profit with 50 employees or fewer. Finalists were evaluated and selected based on:
1) Staying power, response to challenges, product(s)/ services(s) innovation; growth within their industry
2) Commitment to the Mohawk Valley Region – longevity in region; community involvement; public service; business leadership and 3) Involvement in the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce. Ultimately, there was one company from each category which was honored at the ceremony.
